Humble Wine Bar

CLIENT STORY

Humble, a beloved wine bar located in the heart of Lakewood, Ohio, needed a major refresh of its digital presence. Their existing website no longer supported the seamless, intuitive experience that both the business and its customers expected, especially as the pandemic shifted restaurant operations to rely heavily on online engagement, carryout orders, and real-time updates.

PLEASE NOTE: This business has since been been sold. The new owners have updated the website to better suit their needs. The existing website is no longer my work.

Design Goals
With a diverse customer base, the primary objective was to create a clean, efficient, and accessible user experience that focused on high-priority content while minimizing visual clutter.

Approach & Execution

  • Simplified the site architecture to surface essential information (menus, location, hours, etc.) in multiple, easily accessible places.

  • Integrated repeated navigation links, short descriptions, and clear calls to action to create a cyclical flow that keeps users close to what they need at all times.

  • Designed and implemented custom inquiry forms, including a dedicated Event Request Form to help the events team generate qualified leads and streamline communication, as well as a General Inquiry Form for day-to-day contact.

  • Built cohesive menu pages for food, drinks, and happy hour offerings, ensuring consistency in layout and style across sections.

Outcome & Next Steps
The redesign modernized Humble’s online presence and improved ease of navigation, allowing customers to find information and take action with fewer steps.

Private event inquires saw a 42% increase in volume within the first 6 months.

Future plans include adding an integrated virtual shop for gift cards, merchandise, and other branded products to further expand digital revenue opportunities.
