CLIENT STORY

Opening a salon is an exciting but overwhelming process for any new business owner. This client needed a complete brand identity and digital presence, including logo design, website, and promotional materials, to help establish credibility and attract a diverse clientele from day one.

With minimal direction beyond a preference for a black-and-white color palette and a typewriter-inspired logo, I took a hands-on approach to shaping a cohesive, modern brand that reflected the client’s personal style: clean, chic, and effortlessly modern.

Design Approach

Because this client serves customers across a wide range of ages, genders, and backgrounds, the digital experience needed to feel simple, neutral, and inclusive. The website focused on high-level information and straightforward booking, avoiding clutter and prioritizing ease of use.

Without access to professional photography, I curated high-quality stock imagery to set the tone using minimal visuals and soft textures that complemented the client’s vision of a modern space filled with natural light, greenery, and eclectic details.

Outcome

The final brand and website established a refined, trustworthy identity that matched the salon’s physical environment. The result is a digital experience that’s minimalist yet warm, helping new customers discover, book, and engage with the salon effortlessly.

EXECUTION & DESIGN DELIVERABLES

To create a distinctive yet refined digital presence, I incorporated subtle interactive details, including a custom crosshair cursor and a stylized map component on the Contact page, adding personality without overwhelming the user experience.

Beyond the website, I established the client’s Google Business listing and Google Analytics account to support discoverability and track engagement post-launch. These tools were set up for ongoing monitoring and handed off with clear documentation for future management.

To extend the brand beyond digital, I designed a full suite of print collateral, including business cards, gift certificates, and service brochures. Each piece was crafted to align seamlessly with the brand’s minimalist aesthetic and printed through trusted vendors. I also provided the client with print-ready templates and step-by-step instructions for reordering independently.

For typography, I paired Cutive Mono for the logo with Cousine across supporting text, creating a cohesive, easy-to-read typographic system that reinforced the salon’s understated, modern identity.
